FUNDACION PRISMA DANZA is now accepting submissions for the 7th
edition of PRISMA 2018, The International Contemporary Dance Festival of
Panamá to take place in Panama City from October 7 to 14, 2018.
Deadline for submission:
Interested companies, dance groups or independent choreographers should send their
proposals (video submissions) by December 31st, 2017 (12:00 am Panama time).
ONLY THE FIRST 500 PROPOSALS RECEIVED WILL BE CONSIDERED.

PRISMA is an independent project for the promotion and development of
contemporary dance in Panama. The Festival is in its sixth year.
The festival also includes a strong educational program with free master classes and
workshops to create a platform for artists of different nationalities to connect,
encouraging bonds between them and strengthening ties among our cultures

Basis for participation:
To be considered, participants must complete our online form and attach the
following info before December 31st, 2017:
The proposals can be theater based or alternative spaces.
1. Online Entry Form
2.A video of the entire work to be presented (vimeo or youtube / no other
formats will be accepted). TRAILERS OR TEASERS WILL NOT BE
3.Information on the submitted work (choreographer, dancers, interpreters, music,
length, technical requirements, etc.)
4.Brief bio of the company, if applicable
5.Resume of choreographer
6.3 Photos (high resolution jpeg) of the submitted work
7.The Workshop/master class proposal
-The length of the work must be between 20 and 60 minutes. Pieces shorter or

Each company may submit a maximum of two (2) works for evaluation by the
Process of Evaluation and Response:
– A Selection Committee will evaluate submissions received, and we will
communicate its decisions to all participating parties on the last week of February.
The festival will cover the following expenses for the participants:
1-Professional fees **
2-Lodging (3 hotel nights in double rooms)
3-Per diem for meals and basic expenses for 3 days ($25 / day / participant)
4– Internal transportation, from and to airport, and whenever necessary
**THE FESTIVAL WILL NOT COVER AIRFARE
** The monetary compensation provided by the Festival to each company or dance
group will be agreed upon beforehand according to the format of the work (solo,
duo/trio, Group work) and will not be any lessmore than $4,500 (for groups of 6 or
more dancers); and will be handed out as soon as the performance concludes.
WHEN RECEIVING APPROVAL FROM SELECTION COMMITEE, THE
COMPANY/CHOREOGRAPHER HAS TO CONFIRM ITS PARTICIPATION
BY APRIL 30.
Master Classes and Workshops:
Each selected company or group is requested to teach at least one master class or
workshop in the Festival’s available spaces.

El Festival Internacional de Danza Contemporánea de Panamá cuenta con el
patrocinio y apoyo decidido del Instituto Nacional de Cultura, la Autoridad de
Turismo de Panamá, el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Panamá, la Lotería
Nacional de Beneficencia y la Alcaldía de Panamá, al igual que un número múltiple
de empresas y organizaciones, muchas de las cuales participan por medio de canjes
por anuncios o productos.

IBERESCENA, fondo iberoamericano para el apoyo de las artes esénicas.
