About the Piece

Therefore the beings:
some go ahead, some go after,
some sigh, some brag,
some vigorous, some worn out,
some climb, some crash.
“Lao-ce, Tao Te King”

The above quotation, although it is from the pen of a philosopher and it relates to thinking, it corresponds exactly to the core topic, the structure devise of the dance theatre piece I intended to create. This time I wanted to rely solely on the non-verbal elements of dance to show the experience of being on the way by making tangible the momentum which is impossible to express in any other way and which we encounter on a beaten or an unbeaten path as we travel.
The paths are merely tools just the same way as we ourselves become live objects in the target-cross of our goals. Heidegger spoke directly about “miracle” when he was describing the ways thinking can lead to freedom. ” The way leading us there cannot be marked systematically like a main road. Thinking – if I may say so _ follows miracle road construction methods.” Consequently, not only thinking requires vigilance, attention and the complete freedom of being on the way but all types of creation do. That is exactly why I believe that a motto can express my intentions: thinking and choreographing are mirror images of each other since they refer to the same secret.
